If you were in the hospital tomorrow, who runs your business on Monday?
Next Operator builds the file that answers that — done for you, by email, at your pace. We interview you in short sittings and assemble your business's continuity file: who to call, what's owed and owing, where every account and record lives, how the key work gets done, and what the first 72 hours should look like for whoever steps in. Delivered as a PDF and a printed binder your family can actually use.
We never receive, see, or store a single password. Ever. (More on that below — it's the rule the whole service is built on.)
The problem, plainly
Somebody has probably told you to "get your house in order." Exit planners charge $10,000–$50,000 to build a full exit plan. Brokers take 8–12% at a sale — and a business only you can run is the hardest kind to sell. The free templates and $30 workbooks ask you to interview yourself and assemble the whole thing alone, which is why so many of them sit half-finished in a drawer.
Meanwhile the clock is real: about 70% of small-business owners are in the early stages of succession planning, and only 8% are fully prepared (JPMorgan Chase, 2026). And most owner exits don't end in a sale at all — they end in the doors quietly closing.
What's missing isn't advice. It's the finished file, assembled by somebody else.
The deliverable
Family, key employees, CPA, attorney, banker, insurance agent, biggest customers and suppliers: who they are, how to reach them, and what they're for.
What the business pays for, to whom, when it renews, and what happens if a payment is missed.
Where the bank accounts, bookkeeping, payroll, tax records, leases, titles, and insurance policies live, and who holds access. Locations and people — never the credentials.
A plain, ordered checklist: who to call first, what to say, what to pay, what to pause, and what never to miss.
How the top jobs actually get done, in the owner's words, so a successor isn't guessing.
What the owner wants to happen, written down in their own words, where the family will find it.
The rule
We never receive, see, or store a single password, master password, two-factor code, recovery key, bank login, or safe combination — not by email, not in the interview, not ever.
The file records where things live and who holds access — the name of the bank, where the password manager lives, which person can get in. If you ever start to type a password into a reply, don't: we'll remind you, and anything credential-shaped that reaches us by mistake is deleted on sight.
A continuity file should make your business findable, not make you exposed.
The process
You (or the person who gifted this to you) say hello at chiticohq+nextoperator@zohomail.com. No passwords — that's the rule from the very first email.
We send a handful of questions at a time, by email. You answer when you can — most sittings take minutes, spread over days if you like. You have 12 months from purchase; there's no deadline pressure.
Every answer is organized into the sections above, and anything that looks missing gets flagged back to you in plain language.
The finished file (PDF) is delivered within 10 business days of your completed answers. You check it, correct it, and confirm it.
It mails once you confirm, or after 5 business days with no reply so a gift is never held hostage; mailing typically takes 5–7 business days. Keep it where your people will find it — whoever needs it, whenever they need it.
Timing, exactly: the interview runs at your pace — the sittings are short, most take minutes, sized to be finishable in a few weeks of small steps — and you have 12 months from purchase. The 10-business-day promise covers our steps only, and it starts when your answers are complete.

Over-scope work — a second business, or more than 10 processes on Full File — is quoted in writing before it starts. Never billed by surprise.
For Christmas
A continuity file is an unusual gift: it's the one that says everything you built is protected. For a printed binder under the tree, the interview answers need to be complete by November 24. That date is the real math — the 10-business-day file clock, the confirmation window, printing, and mail — because December mail is December mail. It is still a cutoff, not a guarantee: printing and mail are handled by third parties.
The founding cohort
Next Operator is new, and deliberately small: the founding cohort is capped at 10 files total, with no more than 4 in production at once, so every file gets one dedicated organizer and a real review. When the cohort fills, the buy buttons come down and a waitlist opens. That's a cap, not a countdown — no pressure tactics, just one organizer keeping the quality where it belongs.
Honest answers
No. Exit planners build strategy — valuations, tax structures, sale timing — and charge accordingly. We build the document they'll ask you for first: the organized file of how your business actually runs. Many owners do this first, then hand the file to their planner, CPA, or broker.
No. We never draft buy-sell agreements, wills, or succession documents, and nothing here is a valuation. The file records where your legal documents live and flags what appears to be missing, in plain language, so your own attorney can act faster.
Never — not one, not once. The file records where accounts live and who holds access. If a password ever lands in our inbox by mistake, it's deleted on sight and we'll tell you to change it.
Yes — gift purchases are welcome, and checkout is in your name. But the work itself starts only when the owner agrees and answers the interview personally. A continuity file written about an owner, without them, isn't worth the binder it's printed in.
If the interview hasn't begun within 12 months of a gift purchase, you choose one: a one-time extension, transfer the purchase to a different owner, or 50% credit toward another tier.
Work already completed stands and is delivered. For the unstarted portion, you choose: a refund of that portion in full, or transfer it to another owner.
We pause everything. Sections already completed stand exactly as the owner gave them. For the unstarted portion, the buyer chooses a refund in full or a transfer to another owner. The file is finished with everything that was completed, clearly marked.
Because they're yours: you review the full PDF before anything is printed, and corrections are part of the process, not an extra.
Your working answers are deleted 90 days after delivery. The delivered file and binder are the record — yours, in your hands.
One dedicated organizer builds your file start to finish — no call centers, no handoffs. This is a founding cohort of 10 on purpose.
